PowerDesk 6 is an advanced file manager providing more features and functionality than the limited file manager offered in Windows or other file management software. It completely replaces Windows Explorer, giving users a wide array of tools to search, edit, delete, move, sort, view and copy files.

PowerDesk Pro and PowerDesk continue to receive kudos from editors, writers, reviewers and users for years. It has won numerous awards and sparkling reviews from PC Magazine, Windows Magazine, and PC World, to name a few. Find out why the world's best file manager just got better today!

Love this program! When I have to reformat and start over, this is the FIRST program I put back on my reinstalled computer. It makes working with files - from simple copies and moves - to complete directory synchronizations - as easy as pie. I shouldn't admit this, but I've been using PowerDesk so long that I don't even know how to accomplish half the tasks I do in PowerDesk in Windows Explorer.

Want to change the attribute of a file to read only?

Want to compare two directories side by side?

Want to see the album name of an MP3 file without opening your music program?

Need to quickly format a thumb drive, or want a one button click to access all your most commonly accessed programs?

Once you start using PowerDesk's interface, you'll get hooked. It is so easy to see all your drives - networked, thumb drives, CDs, DVDs, and to filter your display as you see fit.

Pros
  • Very quick learn
  • Quite intuitive - the file manager that MicroSoft should have invented
  • Almost a desktop replacement - PowerDesk will become the one program you start with everyday. You can operate entirely "within" Powerdesk all day long.
Cons
  • Not many - but PowerDesk was not produced by Avanquest.
  • Find an older Version 6 from Vcom - the older versions allow you to install copies on more than one computer. The creeps at Avanquest tweaked the new version 7 to prevent you from doing this.
